New Whois Privacy Service protects contact information and provides alerts of legitimate contact requests Ottawa, Ontario (PRWEB) June 2, 2005 -- LaneChange.Net, a complete Internet services solutions provider, announces a new privacy service that protects the identity of domain name owners by replacing publicly accessible registrant data with generic contact information thereby making it more difficult for Spammers, telemarketers and other undesirable third parties to capture private domain owner information. The Whois Privacy Service replaces existing owner contact information with generic information that directs inquiries to a special web site which then captures legitimate contact requests and forwards them to the real domain owner. Owners retain full control over their domains at all times, avoid exposure to excessive Spam, telephone or letter mail marketing and are alerted to contact requests. "When someone registers a domain name, sensitive information such as the owner's name, address, phone number and email address are placed in a publicly accessible database known as the Whois Database," said Robert Schwartz, President of LaneChange.net. "This information is often accessed by Spammers, telemarketers ... more » Wednesday, May 4

When disaster strikes, offsite hosting offers low cost business continuity option Ottawa, Ontario (PRWEB) September 24, 2004 -- Small and medium sized businesses do not always have the budget or personnel to implement costly disaster recovery plans, but short term, on-demand offsite hosting combined with economical backup services provides a viable option. "This was not your typical Friday before a long Labor Day weekend!" said Robert Schwartz, president of LaneChange.net. "Hurricane Frances was spinning through the Bahamas and our phones were ringing off the hook with requests from some quick thinking Floridians looking for offsite hosting and backup email services to support their operations through the weekend.""So many variables come into play when a large natural disaster like a hurricane hits. Un-interruptable power supplies and generators can provide endless amounts of power, but high winds, lightning and even flooding can knock out telecom lines that connect your servers to the Internet." Schwartz said. "Most employees were sent home to wait out the storm. Streets blocked with debris and travel restrictions imposed by local officials ... more » Wednesday, August 25

We have implemented some changes to our reporting tool for our Virus
Filtering Gateway Service. As of today, you will notice extremely fast
reporting results when accessing the traffic reports for your domain.
These speed increases are mostly due in part to database optimizations that also required us to delete some old historic data. Some low volume domains may notice some detailed historic information missing in the reports. Any new data from today onward however will be displayed as expected. more » Friday, August 20
